Only those who live in a safe world, have the liberty to establish friendships with people with the same principles as they have themselves.
Wise men have taught me that you only get the right answers, if you have posed the proper questions. Definitely a wrong question is whether you are in favour or against the air strike in Afghanistan? More to the point would be: Do you think that we are living in a safe world and are we under threat or not? You may refer to the strikes against the twin towers of The World Trade Towers in New York of 11th September lately. If the answer is that we live in an unsafe world, then we have to define the threat as well the enemy and come up with an answer to eradicate the threat.
But you cannot, on the one hand, admit that our civilisation is being threatened, whilst on the other hand you are against the military solution. I admit that the military solution can only establish a temporarily peace.
The underlying problem is the inequitable division of wealth in the world steeping 80 percent of the world population in poverty.
Stuart, how you would have dealt with the situation if you were President Bush?
My answer is a bit futuristic. If I were president, I would allocate greater sums of money to
the research of nuclear fusion. When mankind can harness the energy of nuclear fusion, a man made sun on earth, and then there will be enough energy for every single individual on earth. No radiation and one litre North Sea water, as fuel, is enough for the year's energy supply of greater London. Let's change the subject.
