Dear Drummond,
Tomorrow is your 88th birthday. We hope that you receive this mail in good health and that the birthday celebrations will be a joyful event.
Since continental Europeans have to present a visa to enter the UK, just like when you travel to Russia, we can't spontaneously fly over the North Sea to visit you on your birthday. If you were born east of London Bridge then you are a WOG in the eyes of the proper English Brexiteer.
Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on reaching the respectable old age.
We are enjoying the last pleasant Indian summer days this weekend and then fall begins according to the weather forecast. Besides the change of the seasons, there has been a sad change in the family. Vera (77) has recently been diagnosed with the onset of Alzheimer's disease. She experiences the inconvenience of this diagnosis that she is no longer allowed to drive the car. Her short-term memory is fading. The longterm outlook is less pleasant. Let's hope the annoying situation won't find its
place until 5 years from now. Vera enjoys life as it comes.
Drummond, have. happy birthday tomorrow and we will also toast the long-lasting good friendship.
