Dear Faysal in Lebanon,
Vera and I recently visited the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.
She enjoys the visit, but she cannot remember what she has seen, because her short memory is failing her. The museum shows the historical seafaring of the Netherlands. Well that is enough information about Vera today.
The third picture is our roof terrace, where I can practice Candide"s advice: "Ik faut cultiver son jardin."
I am interested on the outcome of yesterday's election in Lebanon. I hope that a new cabinet gets a political mandate from parlement to clean the Herculean-stable (read; Lebanon).
Incidentally, I believe that the longterm goal for Lebanon should be to become the Switzerland of the Middle East. This is of course not achieved overnight.
Over the next ten to twenty years, international conferences of government leaders should convince the Middle Eastern countries of the benefits of a stable kind of Lebanese-Switzerland based in the Middle East.
