Dear Mehdi,
First of all we enjoyed the pleasure of your company here in Rotterdam.
You practiced the great art of giving me pistachios and a tin of caviar, something that used to be reserved for the royal family.
Whenever an opportunity arises to engage your good services, I will not hesitate to contact you.
Allow me to make a few comments, bearing in mind that I am a layman on the Gulf crisis:
Clearly there are two truths. An Arab truth and a Western truth. When communication becomes frustrated and eventually stops, that's when the opposing parties come start fighting over which of the both truths are the real truth. The truth of the winning side prevails. Both parties have asked for God's help. So God wins and God loses.
Mehdi, it's nothing but madness! Especially you, as a citizen of Iran, must be surprised how the West initially sided with Iraq and how the latter has become the root of all evil. Very confusing indeed.
Allow me to end this scribble with some wisdom from Irish poet Ezra Pound (1885-1972):
" When I carefully consider the curious habits of dogs, I am compelled to conclude that man is the superior animal. When I consider the curious habits of man, I confess, my friend, I am puzzled."
KInd regards, Adriaan D. Dirkzwager
