London, 27th june 1979
Dear Mr Rattan,
Further to our discussions we have held in the past, I regret to inform you that both our standpoints on what is a decent remuneration for being employed by your group, is lying so far apart that it is not any use to continue the discussion.
Right from the very beginning I have indicated that we are talking about DG 150.000 p.a., if you ever seriously attempting to employ me. This amount is not aut of the markt for a person of my caliber.
Secondly the cost of living is expensive in the Netherlands;
Thirdly the type of job will be much more demanding than my present job;
Fourthly the offered DG 100.000 salary is not a distinct improvement over what I earn presently, if include my fringe benefits.
I hope you will appreciate the above consideration and I hope also that we meet each other in Rotterdam.
Kind regards, Adriaan D.Dirzwager
