Original hand-painted watercolour by Beverley Goodwin, titled Ancient Tales, created in 1987. This is a bold abstract composition in layered washes of colour and linework, characteristic of Goodwin’s distinctive style. The work is signed and dated in pencil at the lower edge and verso. The paper is textured and appears to be quality art paper, consistent with the artist's stated use of cotton, silk, and paper media.
Goodwin was active in Hastings, New Zealand, and operated a studio at 414 Brunswick Street, as stamped to the reverse. This work originally retailed for $600.00, as per original gallery label.

C O N D I T I O N:
Very good vintage condition. The artwork has been carefully removed from its original frame to avoid damage in transit from glass. Minor toning to the paper edge consistent with age. Colours remain vivid and stable. Please refer to photos for details.
