150726d Mid-Century Danish, 6 Holmegaard 'Princess' by Bent Severin, Red Wine Glasses
Entry/Object ID

Description
Founded in Denmark in 1825, Holmegaard became an important name in Scandinavian glass design. Bent Severin created the Princess service in 1957, with production continuing until 1973. Now represented in museum collections, the series reflects the Danish modern movement's combination of elegant form, skilled glassmaking and practical design. Three glasses retain their original Holmegaard foil labels, a particularly appealing survival that identifies them as Danish production supplied under appointment to the Royal Danish Court.
