Description

An authentic antique Austro Hungarian silver and black enamel hinged mourning bangle, likely dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s. The Diana head hallmark was the official Austro Hungarian state silver guarantee mark used from 1867 to 1922. The letter A indicates the Vienna assay office, while the number 3 generally denotes 800 grade silver. Mourning jewellery became especially meaningful in the Victorian period, when black enamel, floral motifs, and silverwork were used to express remembrance, devotion, and sentiment. A beautifully crafted antique piece with genuine age, symbolic history, and strong gothic romantic appeal. M E A S U R E S: Inner measurement 6 cm x 5 cm. Band width 13 mm. Band depth 4 mm.
