A charming Art Deco onyx mantel clock made in Germany during the late 1920s to early 1930s. Crafted in sculptural pale onyx with attractive natural veining and fitted with a small German mechanical 8 day movement, this piece is a wonderful example of early twentieth century design. The stepped onyx base and curved upper form are typical of the Deco period, while the simple dial and brass bezel reflect the export clocks produced in Germany between the wars. A lightly inscribed signature or mark appears on the underside of the stone, though it is not fully legible. A beautiful decorative piece with genuine period character.

Clock is working and appears to keep good time, though it may stop when moved and responds to a gentle tap to restart. Light scrapes and age related wear consistent with a vintage onyx piece. Offered as found.
