A set of five Bertoia Wire Side Chairs consistent with early 2000s Knoll-authorised production, originally retailed in New Zealand by Bromhead Design. These follow Harry Bertoia’s 1952 design, formed from a welded steel wire grid on a sled base. The construction details closely match known genuine examples from the period including the seat-basket form, wire pattern, weld structure, and base geometry. The original leather seat and back pads are included. A 2002 Bromhead Design clearance advert was found stored with one chair (!!), confirming the period availability of this model in New Zealand. These features collectively support authenticity.

C O N D I T I O N:
One chair has damage to a section of base wire which is hidden beneath the seat pad. Additional wear or wire fatigue may be present. Visible areas show general age-related wear to the chrome, minor oxidation, and expected surface marks. On some chairs black tape appears to have been placed on the front seat edge wire to possibly protect the leather seat pads from wear. Leather pads show creasing and light discolouration consistent with use. All chairs remain stable and usable.
