Beautifully modelled Art Nouveau ceramic figurine by Theodore Schoop, known for his sculptural work produced for European potteries in the early twentieth century. This elegant maiden carries a vessel at her side, her draped gown and flowing movement capturing the organic, graceful aesthetic of the Art Nouveau period. The striking black and ivory glaze accentuates the contrast between the figure’s form and the fluidity of the garment. The base carries impressed numbers and a faintly impressed T Schoop signature to the side below her foot, consistent with his lightly applied marks that often sit beneath the glaze.

C O N D I T I O N:
Overall very good condition for age. No cracks or repairs observed. Light wear and minor firing irregularities present, typical of early twentieth century ceramic production. The T Schoop signature is faint due to glaze pooling on the base.
