A quality mid century armchair made in New Zealand by Don Furniture Ltd under licence to the British brand Clintique, circa 1960.
Don Furniture produced well constructed lounge seating for the New Zealand market, adapting popular UK designs for local manufacture. This example features a solid mahogany frame with sculpted forward sweeping arms and an angled high back, reflecting classic mid century proportions.
The sprung base and solid timber rails demonstrate the durability these pieces are known for. The geometric upholstery appears original to the period and complements the chair’s authentic 1960s character.
A comfortable and stylish statement piece suited to both vintage and modern interiors.

Very good vintage condition. The mahogany frame shows light age appropriate wear. Upholstery is clean and well presented. Springs and structure are sound. Maker’s label remains present beneath the seat.
