The amazing craftsmanship is sure to be a talking point. Lacquerware are items that have been painted with a decorative material called lacquer and is thought to have originated in South Asia, where it is still produced in countries including China, Japan, and Burma, as well as Korea and Vietnam. The varnish used in Japanese lacquer is made from the sap of the Urushi tree, also known as the lacquer tree or the Japanese varnish tree (Rhus vernacifera), which mainly grows in Japan and China, as well as Southeast Asia. Japanese lacquer, Urushi, is made from the sap of the lacquer tree. Lacquer was used in Japan as early as 7000 BCE, during the Jomon period.
