The beauty of these hand-blown glass bowls can't be understated, they are masterpieces from Tarnowiec, Poland, crafted by the esteemed artisan Jerzy Sluczan-Orkusz (1924 - 2002) in the pivotal 1970s-80s period. Each bowl radiates with a deep crimson hue, a signature of the sodium glass technique used to achieve their remarkable color. Pioneer of industrial design during the Soviet period in Poland, Jerzy Sluczan-Orkusz was one of the first graduates of the Academy of Arts of Wroclaw (1948-1953). He specialized in glass design. Jerzy Sluczan-Orkus is famous as one of the most prolific glassworkers of the Eastern countries during the communist period.
