This antique silver punch ladle dates to 1833, as indicated by the dotted inscription on the handle. It reflects the transition in fashionable drinking customs of the early 19th century when punch was served individually rather than communally. Silver punch ladles were considered a luxury item, often owned by the upper class.
The ladle is hallmarked with "THO ASPERN" and a symbol, identifying it as a German-made piece. It features a finely crafted silver bowl and an elegant turned ebony wood handle. The historical inscriptions add to its charm and provenance.
