A matched pair of mid-20th-century Maori dolls dressed in traditional kapa haka attire. These collectible dolls [the male being extremely rare] feature intricately detailed feather cloaks (kakahu), woven bodices, flax piupiu skirts, and traditional accessories, including the female doll’s poi and both figures’ hei tiki-style pendants. They both have male facial moko (tattoo) markings, and the female has sleep eyes. These were likely made for the tourist market or as cultural display pieces during a time of growing international interest in Maori heritage and craftsmanship.

Good vintage condition overall. Both dolls show minor signs of age-related wear. Hair is intact and clothing is well-preserved with original detailing, though slight fraying to fabric edges is noted. Facial paintwork, especially moko and lips, remains clear. Please refer closely to photos for condition specifics.
