A very special vintage pair of Italian Murano art glass wine goblets featuring sculptural swan form stems enriched with gold. The generously proportioned bowls are crafted using Garza filigrana cane work, a fine gauze like lattice technique, in white with pale blue tones arranged in an elegant spiral. Each stem is individually hand formed with applied wings, curved neck and detailed eyes, demonstrating the skilled hot worked glass techniques of mid century Murano. With their rounded bowl shape and open rim by period standards, these were intended as true wine goblets, suitable for white wines, rosé and lighter reds, as well as traditional European table wines. Dating to circa 1950s to 1960s, they would originally have formed part of a larger matched set and remain both functional and highly decorative. [I am listing 2 pairs of these goblets].

C O N D I T I O N:
Very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks observed. Minor surface wear and small inclusions consistent with age and hand blown Murano glass.
