MID–CENT–MAD Recycle, Reuse, ReLove! Please make an offer via the ‘Questions’ panel below Thank you for your support of a purely NZ-owned small business A striking Murano Sommerso glass decanter in the form of a seated dog, produced in 1959 for the Drioli Cherry Brandy Company. Made in Italy using the iconic Sommerso technique, this layered glass piece features a rich cobalt blue and green body, with clear sculpted ears and a curled tail. The facial features are finished with deep red applied glass eyes and nose, adding distinctive charm and collectible appeal. Originally created as a figural decanter for cherry brandy, these pieces were exported globally and are now prized for their design and mid-century Murano artistry. This example is empty and unlabelled, but correct in form and colour, and attributed to Murano workshops associated with Archimede Seguso.
