Description: A floor lamp with a removable shade constructed of wood and gesso. The base ends in a footed platform that has an organic-style motif resembling lilly pads. The lamp's stem supports an electrical fixture of two bulbs with chains. The removable shade has panels with dark brown silk lining. The frame is divided into four panels that are enhanced with an organic pattern of an Art Nouveau motif. The shade is also trimmed with a multi-color fringe.

History of Object: An Art Nouveau-style formal lamp and shade that was found in the attic of a house in the 2800-2900 block of Central Avenue near High Street. This lamp was originally displayed in the Italian pavilion at the Panama Pacific Exposition of 1915 in San Francisco and was probably purchased when the Exposition was over.
