Description:
(A) One piece pale pink colored crepe formal dress, padded shoulders and sleeveless. Silver and crystal beading accentuates neckline, sleeve openings, and back of dress to waistline. Dress secured by zipper and snaps in back. Front has series of darts at waist under bust line and lower portion of skirt is slit to mid-calf. A self material division at waistline terminates at back opening with two gathered peplums.
(B) Open crown hat of pink colored felt with attached simulated bird feathers in shaded pink and pale tan color. Interior has silk label stating "City of Paris, S. F."

History of Object:
Formal gown and feathered hat worn by Mrs. Charles E. Smith to the wedding of her daughter, the donor. The marriage occured on September 11, 1947 at Christ Episcopal church at Santa Clara and Grand St., Alameda. The donors Father, Charles E. Smith, was a prominent plumbing and heating contractor at 1250 Park St. The accompanying information composed by donor is attached to card.
