No. 81.226.1 Subject Category: City of Alameda (Dog License) Date or period: 1904 Object: Dog license Description: It is an oval brass plate pierced with holes on both ends for mounting on dog’s collar. Incised "Alameda Dog License 382 to July, 1904". Size: It is two one fourth inches in length and 3/4th inches in width. History of Object: This dog license was found at the diggings for the new off street parking lot at the Park Avenue and Post Office Court a few days ago (September, 1956). The license collector tells us that the Police Department issued all the dog licenses up to about 1924. Acquired from: Mr. Robert Grafe Date: September, 1956
