Acc. No. 95.109.1 Subject Category: Industries Date or Period: 1920's Object: Chimney top Description: Octagonal-shaped chimney top which appears to be made of fired brick clay. It has a circular base supporting arched panels. The octagonal-shaped dome is divided into flat sided panels, one panel being impressed with "From N. Clark and Sons, S.F. works at Alameda, Calif." An adjoining flat sided panel has an incised circle with a capital G and the numbers 22. There is a small circular finial at the top. Size: height 11 inches by width 12 inches. History of Object: Chimney top manufactured at Clark's Pottery, Pacific Ave., West End, Alameda. Clark's Pottery was an early industry of Alameda, established 1886. It manufactured terra cotta sewer pipes, etc. Acquired from: Omega Salvage 2407 San Pablo Ave. Berkeley, CA Date: 5/27/1995
