Description: Carbon copy of typewritten information on tissue paper. Series of papers housed in a loose leaf folder with manila colored cover, cover has handwritten caption "Chipman Papers - Triplicate".
Size: L 11 3/4 W 9 1/2 inches.
History: Information entitled Chipman Papers Volume I & II. The material consists of copies of Deeds and other sources concerning the sale of property by W.W. Chipman co-founder of the City of Alameda, in the City of Alameda. Also has correspondence. Volume II has an index of subject matter. Information valuable since it concerns the founding of the City and chronicles events prior to 1869 when Alameda established its first newspaper.
Given to the Alameda Historical Museum, numbered 628x, prior to 1971 and never catalogued.
