Object: Newspaper clipping
Description: Newspaper clipping, dated Monday, March 29, 1976, has been laminated onto a sheet of blue paper. A photograph shows Otto Rittler with an arm around a child (named Derrick Blue). Child is seated in front of a sign reading Rittler Park. On back is stamped Compliments of Ralph A. Greer, Murphy-Greer Mortuary, Alameda, Calif., and the date 3-29-76 written by hand. Size: 8 1/2" x 11".
History of Object: Subjects of photograph are identified as Otto C. Rittler, 93, retired Superintendent of Recreation in Alameda, and Derrick Blue, 8, a second grader at Lum School and the son of Oakland A's pitcher, Vida Blue. These clippings were laminated and mailed to subject by Ralph Greer as good will and publicity gesture.
