History of Object: Chinese-style earrings of Mrs. Gisela Haslett (née Kruger) of 1427 San Antonio (the house was later moved to 1313 Lincoln to make place for Franklin School). Mrs. Haslett was the mother of Doris Goodman and Kathleen Edwards, who donated the ordinary bicycle to the museum. The Haslett family became enamored of all things Chinese, after visiting the 1915 San Francisco World Exposition. Mrs. Edwards lived opposite the donor on Marina Drive, and willed the earrings to her.
