Object: icing bag with accessories, in box
Description: a cardboard box holding a tapered heavy canvas bag or funnel, with a ring for hanging on one side, and a steel screw-top on the other side. This screw top matches a ring, in which can be placed a disk with cut-out design; there are 8 disks, embossed with letters A-H, with different designs. A booklet titled 'Instructions and Recipes' formed by a piece of waxed paper folded to form 6 pages is included. Manufacturer's name on Box and booklet: 'Ateco'. One side of the box lid has broken off. Box is heavily stained and greased.
Sizes: box: L 9" x W 4 1/2" x 3"; booklet (folded): L 6" x W 3 1/2; diameter disks: 2"; size bag: L 13 1/2" x W (when flat) 11" tapering to 2".
History of Object: Ateco Cookie Modeler No. 682, used as Icing Bag at Hofmann's Bakery to decorate cakes and cookies. Ateco is the brand name used by August Thomsen Corp., founded in 1905. It is still in business today, run by August's great-grandsons.
