Name/Title
Postcard Park Street and Alameda Ave, Ca. 1930?Description
No accession number.
Postcard titled 'Park Street, Alameda, California', with source cited: 'Alameda Chamber of Commerce'.
The postcard shows the corner of Park Street and Alameda Avenue, looking north, with the Claremont Hotel shimmering large on the hill in the background.
The building on the corner of Alameda and Park can still be recognized today, as can the long building on the right, and the one one just visible on the right. However, the building in between has disappeared now.
The postcard has at some point been glued to brown paper, and sections of it are still on the back, obfuscating the publisher.
On the reverse is the following text (partially hidden by section of brown paper):
ALAMEDA, CITY OF HOMES, BEACHES,
[FER]RIES, AND AIRFIELDS has 369 retail
[establish]ments which afford metropilitan convenience
[and attrac]tions. These stores are centralized in [new?]
shopping districts within easy access of the [?]
home loving residents. Alameda's sun bathed [beaches?]
are superb; its active industrial area ideally [located?]
as are its airports.
