Description: A crank type, cast-iron sewing machine. The wheel, head and needle section rest upon a cast iron base that can be opened for storage. The head and base have a black japanned finish with a decorative transfer print design in red, gold and green colors. Maker unknown.
Size: H-12” x Base: 7 x 12”
History of Object: A sewing machine patented on Nov. 30, 1886 and was used by Mrs. Westover, the grandmother of Mrs. Percy Snider, the donor. It was donated in June, 1959, but was never cataloged until now.
