Description: Silk plush rug sample with a woven "Art Nouveau" style pattern of a stylized lily. Design colors of varying shades of green accentuated with gold. Carpet is signed on reverse side in the weave "Bigelow-Merrimac". Size: L - 45 1/2 x W - 27 1/2 inches. History of Object: It is a sample of rug removed from the reception hall of 1309 Regent St., Alameda. The house was erected in 1890 by J. H. Young, contractor and builder, and sold to A. J.
