Description:
Loose leaf composition book. Hard cover has a hand painted scene of a tree with bold printed caption "Wilson School, Alameda, Cal.". Pale blue silk cording acts as a binding.
Size: L 12 1/2 W 8 3/4 inches.
History: Hand written compositions by the students of the third grade at Wilson School. The name of the school was changed in 1911 to Lincoln School. The compositions are illustrated with actual photographs and lithographs from several sources. The collection of compositions were displayed to represent the Alameda City Schools at the California Mid Winter International Exposition held at Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, in 1894.
