Acc. No: 20.70.1 Subject: Red Cross Dates: 1914-1918, WWI Object Type: Nurses Uniform and Scarf Description: WWI Red Cross Head covering. Sheer dark blue silk georgette scarf with organza. Across one corner, a piece of white organza is applied, with a piece of black elastic thread. A Red Cross emblem has been sewn to the center of the organza. Size: L 31" X W 36", strip of white: L 3 1/2", W 14" tapering to 12" History/Provenance: WW-I coif or veil, used by production volunteers. Donor unknown, but likely part of the donation of the Red Cross Charter when they sold the old Charter House. Donor: The Alameda Branch of the Red Cross. Accession Date: 11/15/2020
