Description: 2 cards, with ‘Member of’ and designs printed on card stock, with information added by hand in blue ballpoint pen. A: red on white with seal featuring a spinning wheel and what appears to be a wheat sheaf; B. Red-brown type on yellow with seal showing a five-pointed star. Verso has names and addresses and a table of months and amounts.
Size (unfolded): A: L4 1/2” x W 3 3/4”; B: L 5” x W 3 1/2”
History of Object: membership cards of social organizations, of Emma Clinton, of 2329 Pacific Ave, Alameda. A: Court of Heroines of Jericho, Berkeley, 1975; B. Sinoda 49 of the Eastern Star, Oakland, 1976. Emma came to Alameda from Mississippi and continued in Alameda after the death of her husband. She died in 1977.
