History of Object: Forty-third Annual Year Book of the Alcyon Reading Club, Alameda, The contents lists the names of officers and members. It also contains programs and speakers from September 12, 1947 to May 14th, 1948. At the end of the book is the Constitution and By-laws of the club...plus a list of past presidents. The club was organized in 1905. The book also contains paper clippings pasted to individual pages from the Times Star, in reference to events of the organization. This was a ladies club, who met at club members’ homes.
