Circular-shaped silver-plated medal supported by stylized ribbon bar pin. Face of medal has embossed design depicting school building and caption, “Denman Grammar School Medal 1865”. “Awarded to Rose Lamb 1887” engraved on reverse side.

History:
Medal awarded to Rosalind Lamb in 1887 from a San Francisco school that she attended. In 1889 she married George A. Starr and came to live in Alameda in the 1890s and ultimately built 2033 Encinal Avenue in 1905. Mrs. George A. Starr nee Lamb was the artist of 2 paintings and a mirror in the museum collection.
