History of Object: Folder with documents found in the attic of City Hall in the 1990s. Documents in this folder pertain to changes for City Hall, including installation of an elevator, heating system, addition to the garage, creating an office for the Assistant District Attorney, paving of the area behind City Hall, partially on behalf of drills done by company 'D', 159th infantry, 1514 Oak Street, gift of an eighteen foot American flag; and acquisition of the Mazzini property adjoining City Hall on Oak Street, which had 9 buildings, 7 of which were occupied by Japanese, and the largest of which was a house, moved from the High School grounds in 1924. Also mentioned was acquisition of a property owned by someone called Powell. Final object was 1932 letter from Mayor Victor L. Schaefer, stating that to prevent fires like the one in the City Historian room, (March 26 1931) becoming devastating, fire signals should be installed in every room.
