History of Object:
Miscellaneous documents from / to the council and/or mayor of Alameda, started during tenure of City Clerk F.E. Browning (with later additions), found in the attic of City Hall during remodeling in the 1990s. Documents in this folder include: Semi-annual or annual reports from various City Departments for 1912, maintenance work on streets; Rabies epidemic control by muzzling and quarantining dogs (Item 1974); campaign to eliminate the Argentinian ant (Item 1958); Saloon of Edw. C. Mills, at 2170 Encinal Ave, selling liquor to women, and without paying for a license (Item 1966); a seawall being constructed along Bay Island Avenue between Park Street and Park Avenue (Item 1972); complaints, about rubbish and oil on the beaches, about dangerous train crossings.
