History of Object: book written and self-published by Alameda resident, museum ex-docent and long-time curatorial assistant Joseph B. Young, who retired from his volunteer work at the museum in 2021. It was through his interest in photography that Joe first came in contact with them Curator George Gunn, who convinced him to become his assistant. The book represents favorite photos by woman photographers from Joe's collection, with explanations about each image. Some were acquired in Alameda estate sales, antique or book stores, or at the once-per-month Antique Fair or Flea Market (on the former NAS). Page 63 has an image by Alameda photographers Spencer and Stolte, mentioning the permanent exhibit at the Alameda Museum. Page 58 mentioned that photographer Bianca Conti resided in Alameda from 1925 to 1932. Page 79 has a photo of the author.
