Description: Acid-free, legal size manila file folder with newspapers, titled ‘Alameda Municipal Journal’, or the 'Alameda Quarterly', and ledger pages with the Municipal Journal letterhead. Journal editions are of May-November 1920, and Quarterly editions of March (2), and June 1921, and include news, photos, and advertisements. Also a letter from the Pennsylvania State Chamber of Commerce and a copy of the January 11, 1921, Sacramento School ‘Union’ newspaper.
Size: L 14 3/4” X W 9”.
History of Object: Editions of the Alameda Municipal Journal produced monthly by City Manager Charles Hewes, editor Luther Rood, accounting thereof, and request to send a copy to Pennsylvania. The Sacramento Paper was likely used as an example, or source. The June 1920, edition has a photo of the Police Department, with identification on the front, and the July 1920 edition has a photo of the fire department, with identifications, on the reverse.
