Description: Two identical sets of Sambo's. The 8-card set comprises seven cards with color cartoons of Sambo interacting with tigers and one card which relates the famous nursery story. The cards are contained within a mailing folder printed in dark brown ink: "SAMBO'S PICTURE STORY CARDS" and "8 DIFFERENT POSTCARDS - 35¢". Each individual card is printed on verso for postal use.

History of Object: Packaged set of advertising postcards sold at the Sambo's Restaurant in Alameda. Part of the collection of the late Samuel Purdy, an original employee of this restaurant.
