Description: Plasticized Plaque with black paint border and gold trim, framing the marriage license of Leonard B. Lippert and Esther Meyers, both of San Francisco, on June 4, 1900. The license is from the City and County of San Francisco, on an elaborate lithographic form which includes an image of dome on top of the San Francisco City Hall.
In the frame, on top of the license, are also two black paper silhouettes, presumably of Esther (left) and Leonard (right), both wearing a hat.

History of Object:
Marrriage license of the adoptive parents of Robert L. Lippert; Leonard and Esther Lippert, both from San Francisco, adopted Robert when he was about 2 years old. They moved to Alameda in 1911.
Robert Lippert was a movie producer and entrepreneur who grew up in Alameda and came back to live here during his final years.
