Patent-October 7th, 1879. Serial number 82357. 22 W.C.F. Natural wood stock, varnished. Size: L-42 inches. History of Object: Rifle that originally belonged to Dais Harris, a friend of P. A. McDonell (pioneer of Bay Farm Island). The rifle was left in the care of Mr. McDonell when Harris went to the Alaska gold fields in 1898. He never returned to claim the weapon.
