Description: A five piece (cobbler's) shoe last consisting of an attachable base of iron with four individual iron shoe forms from child to adult sizes. The Traces of the original red paint are in evidence. The shoe forms are numbered individually #1 through #4.
Size (shoe last): H-23 inches.
History of Object: This item was donated to the Museum on March 28, 1987, but it was never cataloged. This shoe last was used by Howard G. Pryor to repair his family's shoes; he, himself, was not a cobbler but, rather, was an employee of the US Custom Service. This family came to Alameda in 1930 and resided at 547 Lincoln Avenue.
