History of Object: Probably the first calculating machine in the city of Alameda. It was used by the city Engineer in the early nineteen hundreds. The City Hall, designed in the Richardson "Romanesque" style by the San Francisco architectural firm of Percy & Hamilton, cost $56,884 to construct.
