Gold plated frame & chain. Gold satin lining. Of French manufacture. Size: L-(from frame to fringe) 9 inches. W-5 inches. History of Object: Purse that belonged to Mrs. Fred Linderman (nee Mary Francis Thorton). Born San Francisco 1870, came to Alameda about 1875, she was the daughter of Abel & Mary Frances (Watson) Thorton, pioneers of the East End. Mr. Thorton owned and farmed what is now known as Liberty Avenue. She married Fred Linderman, also of pioneer Alameda stock. Acquired from: Mabel Kollmyer (nee Linderman) Date: 9-16-1989
