Description: A drop-front lady's desk in the American Eastlake style; the wood appears to be cherry. The desk includes side shelves and an upper top with two platforms for books or bric-a-brac. The desk also includes two shallow drawers with patinated brass bale handles. The exterior panel that serves as the desk top has an inset panel of embossed cardboard depicting a bird perched on a branch having leaves and berries and includes a butterfly in flight. The decorations throughout this piece have incised carvings.
