Acc. No. 89.56.1 Subject Category: Toys Date or Period. Object: Doll Description: German bisque doll with composition ball joint body. Brown eyes & original mohair wig. Incised lettering on bisque head stating "Made in Germany" & "171". Open mouth, sleepy eyes. History of Object: The donor, born in Berkeley, was brought to Alameda as an infant. Daughter of Ramon & Doris Currier, she attended Mastick, Washington and graduated from Alameda High School. The family resided on St. Charles Street. The doll was given to her as a Christmas present when she was seven or eight years old. This was prior to World War 1. The clothes were made by her mother. Many have their original clothing. These dolls belonged to children of various early Alameda families.
