History of Object: Hand-out from a Presentation at the Contra Costa Hills Hiking Club Annual Meeting, March 21, 2010, by Roberta Stone O'Grady, being 'A Memoir of the Stone Family; William Isaac Stone, William Frank Stone, Lester Frank Stone'. Includes a technical description of types of ships, and family and their shipbuilding history as illustrated by photos. Although it does not explicitly state when Lester Stone moved the yard to Alameda, it is implied by the photos that this was in 1942, and he sold it in 1970. Subsequent owners kept the name, until it closed in 2004. The photos include the Joseph Lee painting of the Startled Fawn now in the Museum collection, as well as photos of the various ships that won the trophies now in the collection.
