History of Object: Letter sent to all telephone subscribers on the occasion of the conversion of the Alameda Telephone system to dial operation. All existing telephone numbers had to be changed. Originally, the telephone number assigned Herbert D. Clark at 1823 San Jose Ave was ALA 70... Later, in preparation of the conversion two zeros were added, making the number ALA 0070. The last conversion then was LAKEHURST 2-0077.
