Description: Bar pin with the motif of an eagle with outstretched wings and the words 'Honored Daughter', upon which is attached a silk ribbon (red, white & blue colored stripes). Suspended from the ribbon is a circular medallion containing the City seal and the heading "City of Alameda, California, 1919. On the reverse side wording in raised lettering “Present to Worlds War Hero," and engraved "Miss Thelma Eisfeldt," "#1022."
Size: L-24 inches.
History of Object:
Medal, especially minted for the City of Alameda, which were presented to returning World War 1. soldiers. This particular medal was given posthumously to the family of Thelma Eisfeldt who died while serving as a Red Cross nurse in France. She was born in Alameda.
