Size : History of Object: Framed oil painting depicting a lumber schooner (name unknown) that was owned by Capt. James Hanson. Flying from the mast of the boat is a flag with the initial "H". Capt. Hanson lived at 2204-06 Buena Vista Avenue in an Italianate style residence he had built in 1875 (& is still standing in 1986). He died there, April 1, 1897. Hanson was a native of Copenhagen, Denmark. Capt. Hansons son, Peter, built several homes on Webb Avenue. Acquired from: John Hanson Date: 8-27-86
